Ludhiana, April 22,Channel88News (Buero):- Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal have clarified that the patients who are undergoing treatment from private hospitals, the Punjab government has issued a notification in this regard, according to which private hospitals cannot charge more than the CGHS rates from the patients. He warned of strict action against the private hospitals violating these directions.

Mr Agrawal informed that a total of 1196 samples have been taken in the district till date, report of 1136 samples have been received. He informed that 19 samples were found to be positive, that includes 16 from Ludhiana and three from other districts. He informed that unfortunately five patients have lost their lives, while four patients (three from Ludhiana and one from Jalandhar) have been discharged after treatment. He stated that now, 10 active patients are left in the district. He clarified that no fresh positive case have been reported in the district today.

He informed that as per the directions of the Punjab government, relaxations have been given to the industries to start their operations in the district, and it has helped more than 30,000 workers have returned to their jobs. He stated that besides, the ongoing development works related to GLADA, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, Ludhiana Improvement Trust, National Highways Authority of India have also been started.

He stated that the District Administration had received information related to movement of labour from the district. He said that immediately after getting information, the District Administration sprung into action and more than 100 migrant labourers were stopped and shifted to shelter homes. He clarified that due to ongoing lockdown/curfew, the borders of all the states have been sealed, so no person, including migrant labourers should not try to move on their own. He informed that for their benefit, the Punjab government is thinking of providing relief to some industries so that such persons get employment.
