Ludhiana, May 2,Channel88News (Buero) Ludhiana MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu today said that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to providing best healthcare to the residents. He informed that on the basis of demand provided by District Administration, medical equipment worth Rs 1 crore have been provided to the health department out of his MPLAD funds.
This medical equipment was handed over to the health department officials in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, DDLG-cum-Nodal Officer Mr Amit Bamby at Zila Parishad Office, here today.
While speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu said that due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic, he had asked the health department officials to provide list of medical equipment required to fight this pandemic. He informed that when the list was submitted, he immediately released Rs 1 crore from MPLAD funds for this purpose.
With the funds provided by the Member of Parliament, the health department has purchased 15 infrared thermometers, five portable X-Ray machine 100mA, 100 oxygen cylinders, 100 regulators of oxygen cylinders, 24 stretchers, 90 pulse oximeter (alarm enabled), 28 Ambu bag, 35 multi para monitors, 10 crash carts, 3300 nasal prongs, 8 laryngoscope, 4 video laryngoscope, 22 BIPAP with masks and wheel chairs.
Mr Bittu said that he has offered more funds if the health department wants to purchase additional equipment. He assured that there is no shortage of funds and hailed the doctors and health department officials who have been on the forefront in fight against COVID 19.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that as compared to other districts, Ludhiana has already purchased medical equipment from MPLAD funds. He said that the District Administration and health department officials are working 24X7 in a dedicated manner to ensure that there is no shortage of equipment to fight COVID 19. He urged the residents to stay indoors, do not believe in any rumours on social media and follow all directions of the Punjab government.
