DGP Punjab Dinkar Gupta reviews Security, Law & Order and COVID-19 situation in Ludhiana

Be more vigilant in wake of impending second wave of COVID-19, DGP directs CP Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 26, Channel88 News (Bureau):- Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Dinkar Gupta on Thursday, reviewed the Crime and COVID-19 situation in the city at Police Lines here in Ludhiana.

DGP Gupta accompanied by Commissioner of Police (CP) Ludhiana Rakesh Agrawal and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ludhiana Range Naunihal Singh was here to hold a review meeting with senior officials of the district. Joint Commissioner of Police Headquarters J. Elanchezhian, DCP Law and Order Ashwani Kapur, DCP Detective Simratpal Singh and DCP Traffic Sukhpal Singh among other senior police officials attended the meeting.

DGP Dinkar Gupta reviewed all undetected murder cases and directed Commissioner of Police to make fresh efforts to trace them. He directed a special drive to be launched to arrest proclaimed offenders and also to unearth illegal weapons which were being used for commission of crime.

While addressing the meeting, DGP Dinkar Gupta appreciated the drive of Ludhiana police to auction off unclaimed old vehicles to free the space in police stations and also lauded the efforts to make Ludhiana City a beggar free. 

He said that the CP Ludhiana did a commendable job to combat the COVID-19 situation in the city and directed to be even more vigilant in coming days in wake of fear of the second wave of COVID-19. He asked police officials to strictly enforce wearing of masks by the public.

He also directed the Police Commissioner to deploy more police personnels in the traffic wing so that the traffic remains smooth in the city. 

Meanwhile, the Director General of Police also listened to the suggestions of police officials sitting in the meeting regarding measures to improve delivery of police services to citizens.
