DC visits civil hospital, inspects medicines’ store room, emergency ward

Ludhiana, February 2: (Bureau) Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Thursday visited the local civil hospital, emergency ward, drug store and interacted with the doctors, staff, patients to seek suggestions for improving facilities here. In a meeting with Civil Surgeon Dr Jasvir Singh Aulakh, SMOs and other doctors, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was committed to provide quality medical services by augmenting health infrastructure and providing essential, non-essential medicines to the patients.
The civil hospital officials informed the fresh purchase orders have been placed and all medicines will be made available here within a few days.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the drug store in the civil hospital and directed them for optimum utilisation of space for proper storage of medicines.
The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that no patient must face any kind of hassle in availing services here as health is a key priority area of the Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government.
Later, Sawhney also visited the emergency ward of the hospital and took feedback from the patients admitted there. She also spoke with the doctors there and assured fulsome support to them
