Randhawa launches Verka’s specialized cattle feeds & supplements

Cooperation Minister also inaugurates Conference Hall for training of farmers

Khanna (Ludhiana), October 9, Channel88 News (Bureau):- Verka Cattle Feed Plants manufacture and marketvarious variants of high quality cattle feed to make dairy farming a sustainable, stable and profitable business. Verka has launched various specialized cattle feeds & supplements like Pregnancy Feed, Calf Starter, Calf Growth Meal, Panjiri Feed, Summer Feed etc. which have evoked good response among dairy farming community.

Taking a step further in helping dairy farmers, Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa launched Verka Fertility Bolus at Cattle Feed Plant, Khanna. Speaking on the occasion he said that Infertility among milch animals causes great economic loss to dairy farmers and the usage of fertility bolus for six weeks will resolve their issues of infertility in milch animals to a great extent. He also inaugurated a newly constructed Conference Hall for training of farmers. He visited the factory and expressed satisfaction about the working of Cattle Feed Plant, Khanna.

MD Milkfed Kamaldeep Singh Sangha said that both Verka Cattle Feed Plant, Khanna and Ghania-Ke-Banger supply high quality animal feed and supplements for the milch animals. He disclosed further that Verka is in the process of launching Ethno veterinary based herbal medicine for treatment of clinical mastitis. He urged the dairy farmers to use a special feed developed by Milkfed namely, Mastitis Prevention Feed which help milch animals in developing resistance towards mastitis. He asked the farmers to use mastitis detection strip regularly to detect the onset of mastitis in milchanimals which otherwise causes a great economic loss to them. The subclinical and clinical mastitis can be detected by dipping the strips in milk taken out from the teats of the milch animals. These strips shall be supplied free of cost to dairy farmers.

General Manager VerkaCattle Feed Plant, Khanna Ashish Kumar Agarwal said that Verka is committed to provide uninterrupted quality cattle feed to the dairy farmers.

SDM Khanna Sandeep Singh, Deputy Registrar Sangram Singh, Chairman Market Committee Gurdeep Singh, Consultant Animal Nutrition Milkfed Dr.M.R.Garg, Senior Scientist Animal Nutrition, GADVASU Dr.R.S.Grewal and other dignitaries along with progressive dairy farmers were also present on the occasion.
