DC reviews progress of Halwara International Airport, directs officials for early completion of project
Ludhiana, February 15: (Bureau) Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Wednesday took stock of the progress made in the construction of Halwara International Airport. Presiding over a meeting in the district administrative complex, here, Sawhney directed the officials concerned to complete the ongoing works as soon as possible. She said that it was an ambitious project of the Punjab government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had already given clear instructions for speedy completion of the project. She held detailed deliberations with the officials on every work being carried out there including terminal building, runaway, parking, lighting, CCTV cameras, firefighting arrangements, power connection, security and others. Sawhney asked the officials to give utmost priority to the project and there must not be any kind of hindrance in the smooth working of the project at any level. She said that the project would further boost the economic activities in the region in terms of industrial development, export, employment, real estate, and others. She also said that this would facilitate the NRIs to remain connected with their families here besides saving their time, money, and energy.
