Ludhiana, April 22,Channel88News (Buero):- A shopkeeper in New Shimlapuri have been fined Rs 5,000 for selling milk packet Rs 1 above the MRP. Mr Rupinder Singh, SSP, Vigilance Bureau (VB), Ludhiana informed that the VB had got information today with that one Kala Karyana Store, Gali No. 4B, Opposite Gurdwara Isharsar, Basant Nagar, New Shimlapuri, Ludhiana was selling packet of Amul Milk at Rs 50 instead of Rs 49 (MRP).

The SSP informed that acting upon the complaint, Inspector Surinder Singh along with Vigilance team was deputed to look into the matter. Accordingly Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Ludhiana was apprised and  Inspector Ajay Kumar Food Supply along with Vigilance team raided the spot and found that Proprietor of Kala Karyana Store namely Kuldeep Singh has violated Rule 18(2) of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011 by selling Amul Milk Packet at Rs 50 instead of Rs 49 to customer Pardeep Singh and a fine of Rs  5,000 has been imposed on Kuldeep Singh as Compounding charges.
