Jarkhar (Ludhiana), January 2- (Bureau) A unique wonder ‘Jannat-e-Jarkhar’ prepared by renowned sports writerand versatile personality Jagroop Singh Jarkhar at his native village
Jarkhar has been dedicated to the public today. This project bearing
witness to pre-independence Punjab was jointly inaugurated by Cabinet
Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Member Rajya Sabha Sant Baba Balbir
Singh Seechewal here during an inaugural event.Speaking to the media on this occasion, Mr. Khuddian said that this initiative taken by Jagroop Singh Jarkhar at his level is a testimony
to the fact that people have now stepped forward to preserve the
prestigious history and heritage of the state. He said that such
efforts make it more certain that the dream of a colorful Punjab is
not going to take long in coming true. He invited the people of
Punjab to strive to preserve the rich heritage and culture of Punjab.
He thanked Jagroop Singh Jarkhar for this gesture.
Addressing the gathering, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said that the
need of the hour is to make joint efforts to preserve the environment
and heritage. He appreciated the fact that in Jannat-e-Jarkhar, space
has been given to various beautiful plants and trees along with the
construction as this will also help in saving the environment.
During the event, Jagroop Singh Jarkhar said that he has dedicated his
entire life to sports, Jarkhar Stadium and Jannat-e-Jarkhar. He said
that it was his wish that he could give glimpse to people of
pre-independence Punjab. He also appealed to the people to bring
their children here to show them this showcase of history. He said
that he wants to expand this project further. On this occasion, MLA
Gill constituency Jeevan Singh Sangowal said that Jannat-e-Jarkhar
will become the glory of Gill constituency. Now people will come from
far flung localities to see it. With this, the name of this
constituency will reach the corners of the world. He said that his
constituency will become the number one constituency of Punjab. On
this occasion, Arjuna award winner Mr. Sajjan Singh Cheema, former
police officer Mr. Narinderpal Singh Ruby, Mr. Hardeep Singh Saini,
Mr. Ranjit Singh Kalsi, Jathedar Gurmail Singh Sangowal, Sarpanch
Dapinder Singh Dimpy, Paramjit Singh Neetu, Sarpanch Baljinder Singh,
Labh Singh, Pal Singh Nauli, Gurbaz Singh, Manmohan Singh Kalakh and a
large number of people were also present.
