In the wake of the suspension of 143 opposition MPs from Parliament, Congress MP Manickam Tagore has described the government’s action as a “reign of terror.” The suspensions began on December 14, with 78 opposition MPs initially barred from the Winter Session, followed by an additional 49 lawmakers on December 19.
